About Azra
Azra was a Zagreb-based Yugoslav rock band founded in 1977 and led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Branimir “Johnny” Štulić. The group became one of the central acts of the Yugoslav new wave period, pairing direct rock arrangements with writing that moved between urban social observation and intimate songs. Its catalogue remains a reference point for listeners across the former Yugoslav region, and many of the most visited lyrics in this archive come from the Azra songbook. |
