On most every can of beer

Four words that I live by

Since my baby's gone away from here.



I've sampled all the different friends

From every brewery

And found one that goes down just right

And soothes my sorrow to a tea.

Yes, sometimes life seems so useless

Still there are things to look forward to

And a cool refreshing brew.



A friendly game of poker

With stakes that are too high

Such things will help me pass the time
