I take myself to places where we didn't go

I surround myself with faces that we didn't know

I think this way I'll leave our past behind

Then I look up and see you on my mind.



I tell my friends that now I'm really over you

I say I'll find a new love but I never do

For even with somebody else I find

I see you on my mind so real I can feel you

And I reach up to hold you close so you will stay

But then I realize that I just see your memory

And a dream of love that just won't go away.



I make my heart a promise that I'll soon forget
