I see a boy and a girl in a pickup truck

Snuggle together and so much in love

Smile on their faces they sure look pleased I see

I see an old man cuttin' fireplace wood

Big red jacket and big red hood

Here on the highway the smoke smells good I see.



I see a little dog on the side of the road

Long been dead and long been cold

I see a boy bout five years old I see

I see a young man his shoes full of holes

Working in the carwash and his hands are cold

And that was me sometime ago I see.

Surrounded by what it looks like deffodils

Some that survive the wind'd chill I see

I see an eighteen wheeler turned upon the side

They say how it broke out and the driver died

And it was tooking for his last ride I see.



I look at the sky nothing to see

I feel the heart beatin' inside of me and I see...
