take it

I walk around

just to calm down my nerves

learned to separate the nightworkers,

worried car owners,

occasional sleepwalkers

young nervous lovers

from other stalkers



it's just puppy hours awake

giving birth

to another nervous day on earth



I don't go near houses

where there's a dog to bark

and I believe I'm supervised

by the dark

how I could set fire

to all the sleepy homes

and admire the flames from a distance

but I'm still in control of my actions

and I'm not out for such satisfaction
