Today I Will Dress Up

Today I will dress up

in the best clothes that I've got

And I will do my best

at least I'll try my best



For once I'll do it right

too many lonely nights

and though I am afraid

I wish for once I will do okay



I hope that they will tell

how much they wanted me there

I wish that they would say

I am a friend of theirs



I hope that when I smile

they will smile back at me

I hope they will appreciate

all of the things that are the person who's me



Administrative offices

grown-ups treated like they're kids

It's time for me to leave

Free, everything's going green

We're only as sick

as the secrets that we keep

Is the wrong within us

or the world that denies that we meet
