A Moment In Time

i can hardly believe

it's been a year now

since i was dependant on the world

that revolved around your love

where to those christmases go so quickly

i can see those eyes so vividly

watching starlight turn to dawn

and as a child i welcomed prejudice

as a lover i spoke of

next year and next year

standing by your side

but when one's heart is in the way

i can't see past a moment in time

and how i relied

upon your strength to hide

my wounds from one who criticized
