Dirty Projectors
Dirty Projectors is an experimental indie rock project led by David Longstreth, known for a discography that evolves from lo-fi folk to complex, layered arrangements. The group's early work, including the 2003 album Glad Fact, established a foundation of intimate songwriting before expanding into the textured soundscapes found on Bitte Orca. This 2009 record marked a significant shift, incorporating gospel choirs and intricate vocal harmonies that defined their broader musical identity. Subsequent releases like Swing Lo Magellan continued to explore sophisticated production techniques and genre-bending compositions. Throughout their career, the project has maintained a reputation for artistic versatility, blending elements of art pop, indie folk, and avant-garde rock into a cohesive and distinctive body of work. |
