Newsted
Robert 'Bob' Newsted is an American musician best known as the bassist for Metallica from 1986 to 2001, following the departure of Cliff Burton. Before joining the thrash metal giants, Newsted established himself as a founding member of the heavy metal band Flotsam and Jetsam, contributing to their early discography and energetic sound. His tenure with Metallica saw the band achieve global superstardom, recording landmark albums that defined the genre. After leaving Metallica, he formed the side project Newsted, releasing the album Soldierhead in 2004. This work showcased his songwriting abilities and continued exploration of heavy metal themes, blending his experience from both his earlier career and his time with one of the world's most influential rock bands. |
