Lyrics for Song: Pust me do besede
Lyrics for Album: Pust me do besede
Vidim te po vsem
Kar sva imela in zgubila
Vsega se spomniva
A za zdaj se le smejiva
Prazna Ljubljana, drug z drugim sama
A tvoj sem bil
V dežju ujeta, pesem izpeta
A tvoj sem bil
Pust me do besede
Naj ti povem za vse kar je
Še ostalo od takrat
Pust me do besede
Povem ti, ker hocem dokoncat
Kar še ostalo je od takrat
Gledaš me, ne verjameš mi
Z rdecimi ocmi, pogled spustiš
Vsega se spomniva
A zdaj se nama ne smeji
Prazna Ljubljana, drug z drugim sama
Tvoj sem bil
Kar dala si, vzel sem
A nic nisem dal, še vedno tvoj sem stal
Pust me do besede
Naj ti povem za vse kar je
Še ostalo od takrat
Pust me do besede
Povem ti, ker hocem dokoncat
Kar še ostalo je od takrat
Spet bom hodil sam domov
Spet bom hodil sam domov
Spet bom hodil sam domov
Spet bom hodil sam domov
Pust me do besede
Naj ti povem za vse kar je
Še ostalo od takrat
Pust me do besede
Povem ti, ker hocem dokoncat
Kar še ostalo je od takrat
Pust me do besede
Naj ti povem za vse kar je
Še ostalo od takrat
Pust me do besede
Povem ti, ker hocem dokoncat
Kar še ostalo je od takrat
Pust me do besede
Pust me, do besede
Wo-oh-ow
Pust me do besede
Besede
Pust me do besede
Pust me do besede
Besede, besede
Pust me do besede
Besede, pust me
Wo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho

Batista Cadillac and Maja Keuc revisit ‘Pust me do besede’ in the studio
‘Pust me do besede’—“let me get a word in”—is a request for one last chance to speak to someone who has already become part of the past. The Slovenian lyric places the singer and former partner in a rain-soaked, nearly empty Ljubljana, looking back on what they shared and lost. Its refrain asks for room to explain what remains unsaid; the verses are less about winning the person back than about being heard before the relationship finally closes. The city imagery gives a familiar breakup theme a local sense of place, turning a quiet urban landscape into a memory of two people who were once alone together. Batista Cadillac first released the song as the band’s debut single. In March 2023, they re-recorded it with singer Maja Keuc, also known as AMAYA, as a way to show the group’s concert sound while preparing for a new run of performances. Slovenian outlet 24ur reported that the musicians returned to producer Martin Štibernik’s MARSH studio, where Keuc added her gospel-inflected vocal character and the band brought an American new-soul touch to the arrangement. The track’s simple metadata on this page omits her feature, so it is important to distinguish this collaborative version from the original release. The 2023 session was presented alongside a music video and as an invitation to upcoming concerts, rather than as evidence of a major chart campaign. The available reporting focuses on the recording process and the band’s live identity; no reliable chart peak or substantial track-specific critical review is documented. That context suits the song: the band’s fuller performance and Keuc’s additional voice make the request to be heard feel more communal, while the lyric remains intimate and restrained. It is a revival of an early song in the group’s catalogue, but the new recording frames it as a living part of their stage repertoire rather than a piece left behind at the beginning of their career. |
