Poljubi me kraj rijeke
gdje smo djeca bili mi
ponesi i gitaru
kao nekad sviraj mi
Poljubi me kraj rijeke
moja prva ljubavi
tu jednu zelju staru
meni nocas ispuni
Neveni i ruze u travi mirisu
odavno moje grudi za tobom uzdisu
nebo puno zvijezda na tvome ramenu
ptice nas iz gnijezda u cudu gledaju

Poljubi me kraj rijeke
“Poljubi me kraj rijeke” (“Kiss Me by the River”) is a return to first love through a place that has kept the memory intact. The narrator asks to meet where they were children, to bring a guitar and play as before. Wildflowers and a star-filled sky frame the scene, but the real pull is temporal: she wants one wish granted tonight, a brief return to the version of themselves that existed before life moved on.
The river is not just a pretty setting. It is a witness to childhood and young love, a place where the past can be revisited without pretending it never ended. The lyric’s request is tender and a little dangerous: a kiss might reopen feelings that time has only partially quieted. Maja Šuput’s song leaves that tension in place rather than explaining what comes after the meeting.
Its romantic nostalgia is direct, built from guitar, flowers and remembered evenings. Independent criticism specific to this track is limited. “Poljubi me kraj rijeke” is less about starting the relationship over than about honoring the place where it began. The singer does not ask for a lifetime; she asks for one night and one old song, enough to touch the past without claiming it can be restored.
