Rodio se u Bosni
tamo odrastao
da cu iz nje otici
nisam vjerovao

Odvede me sudbina
iz mog rodnog kraja
svega imam, al' patim
ja zbog zavicaja

Ref.
Ostadose brat i sestra
osta otac, majka
ostade mi prva ljubav
iz moga sokaka

'Vamo nema druzenja
ni sijela, ni prela
svega ima, dzabe je
dusa nevesela

Iako sam daleko
srce Bosni zudi
lijepa je Amerika
Bosna lijepsa, ljudi

Ref.

Oni sto nam u Bosni
sudbinu skrojise
tesko u njoj zivjeti
tako napravise

Doboj, Tuzla, Visoko,

nikad onog vremena
da dodje ponovo

Ref.
Place Bosna zasto je
djeca ostavljaju
i ja placem zasto nisam
u svom rodnom kraju

Place Bosna (duet Jasmin Muharemovic)

“Plače Bosna” (“Bosnia Is Weeping”) is a song of homesickness built around what migration leaves behind: siblings, parents, a first love and the familiar gathering places of home. The narrator says fate led him away from Bosnia, where he has material comfort but still suffers for his homeland. That contrast is the song’s thesis. A person can have “everything” in a new place and remain emotionally impoverished by the absence of the old one.

The lyric names belonging through concrete details rather than slogans. Family members and the local social life—the visits, the shared evenings—are the things that make a homeland feel like home. The title gives the country a voice, but the sadness is personal: the narrator is the one who left, and the land seems to mourn the departure with him. Jasmin Muharemović’s duet feature adds to the feeling of a conversation across distance.

Mara i Lole’s regional repertoire makes this migration theme part of a familiar Balkan experience, but the song’s emotional specifics resist abstraction. Independent track reviews are scarce, so no public consensus is claimed. “Plače Bosna” does not romanticize leaving as simple opportunity or staying as simple virtue. It describes the split itself: a life built elsewhere, a heart still looking back toward the people and places that gave it its first shape.
