Cudna bolest

cudan pored Save stoji ridji covek
preko reke pa u sumi ima breg
ima brdo plus bizona krdo
Obest, pored starog broda
tu sam pored Save, pliva mi sloboda
plovak preko reke uzdizem
svoja jedra, pa pucam poput leda
Bolest
cudan pored Save stoji ridji covek
preko reke pa u sumi bezi zec
trci brzo, brzinom poput svetla
Sreca
ziveli bi nesto, nesto toplo poput leta
ili leto ili usamljeni ram
slika na zidu, a na njoj je kraj sveta
imam nervni slom, a na nebu bljesti grom
A na nebu bljesti grom
glava ka nebu vidi spas
ridji covek je sigurno jedan od nas
Cudna bolest
“Čudna bolest” (“A Strange Illness”) resists the tidy metaphors its title seems to promise. Rather than describe a recognizable sickness, the lyric assembles a surreal landscape beside the Sava: a reddish man, a hill, a herd of bison, an old boat and a float drifting across the water. The images arrive like fragments from a dream. The narrator is near the river, but the river itself seems to have become a strange state of mind, where freedom and nonsense can coexist.
The song’s method is collage. Each detail briefly suggests a story, then the next one pulls the listener somewhere else. That refusal to explain is not necessarily a failure of narrative; it shifts attention toward atmosphere and association. The title may invite a diagnosis, but the lyric offers no clear symptoms or cure. Its illness could be the world’s absurdity, a private confusion, or simply the strange pleasure of letting images collide.
Marko Aleksandar Gajić’s work here sits well outside conventional romantic storytelling. Independent criticism of this particular track is scarce, so it would be wrong to present one reading as settled. “Čudna bolest” rewards a listener willing to leave some questions open. The Sava is a real geographical anchor, yet the song turns its banks into a dreamscape where ordinary landmarks cannot hold a stable meaning. The strange illness may be that feeling itself refuses to behave like a sensible story.
