cudno, sve vise te ljubim
a i ti, i ti si k'o druge
odlazis bez bola, bez tuge
Ref. 2x
Ali znaj, znaj, znaj, znaj
kad se sretnemo mi
toga dana zaplakaces ti
Gubim te, gubim te bez reci
snage nemam to da sprecim
o idi, ne okreci se ti
snage jos samo imam za kraj
Ref. 4x
Gubim te, znam da te gubim
cudno sve vise, sve vise te ljubim
o gubim te, gubim, gubim te bez reci
snage nemam to da sprecim
Gubim te
There is a cruel arithmetic in “Gubim te”: the more the singer realizes he is losing her, the more deeply he says he loves her. The relationship seems to be ending without a fight—she leaves “without pain, without sorrow”—and that imbalance is what hurts. He is still living inside the loss while she appears already beyond it. The chorus imagines a future meeting where she will finally cry, a small revenge fantasy that cannot change the present but keeps the narrator from feeling entirely powerless.
The lyric is not really about winning her back. It is about wanting the person who leaves to understand what leaving has done. That wish makes the song tender and a little resentful at once. Miki Jevremović’s expressive style suits a narrator whose pride is trying to keep pace with his grief. The repeated “I’m losing you” sounds less like a revelation than a fact he has to rehearse before he can accept it.
Jevremović’s career is part of the Yugoslav popular-song tradition where a direct, emotionally exposed vocal can make a private breakup feel communal. Retrospective coverage after his death focuses on his life and repertoire, but I found no track-specific critical review worth using here. “Gubim te” does not give us the absent woman’s account. Its focus is the painful asymmetry of one person still loving while the other seems to have moved on—and the hope that, someday, the feeling might be returned in tears.
