Crave (Remixes)
Madonna · Crave (Remixes)
Far from walking home, far from where it's safe
Hope it's not too late
Rush, rush, rush on you, love, love, love on you
Love you like a fool, put my trust in you
'Cause you're the one I crave
And my cravings get dangerous
The feelings never fade
I don't think we should play with this
Said come, come get me straight
I don't think we should wait for this
'Cause you're the one I crave
And my cravings get dangerous
Ooh (Ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should play with this
Ooh (Ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should wait
'Cause I'm just me (Yeah), that's all I can be (Ooh)
Something real (Yeah), something I can feel
You know I just can't change, this is how I'm made
I'm not afraid, take me to the grave
You're the one I crave (Crave)
And my cravings get dangerous
The feelings never fade
I don't think we should play with this
Said come, come get me straight
I don't think we should wait for this
'Cause you're the one I crave
And my cravings get dangerous
Ooh (Ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should play with this
Ooh (Ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should wait
You're on me, I don't think you should wait (Wait)
You're only one pull up away (Away)
You're down to ride, ride me like a wave (Ride, yeah)
I gave you a sensation (Ooh)
Longer days we used to chase
It's do or die, yeah, my love life can get crazy (Crazy)
It's on the line, girl, you're risking everything (Thing)
It's over, x-rated
Ran so far to try to find the thing I lacked
And there it was inside (Side) of (Of) me (Me)
Ran and ran, I ran so fast, a thing to last and there it was
I hear (Hear) you (You) breathe (Breathe)
'Cause you're the one I crave (Crave)
And my cravings get dangerous
The feelings never fade
I don't think we should play with this
Said come, come get me straight
I don't think we should wait for this
'Cause you're the one I crave
And my cravings get dangerous
Ooh (Ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should play with this
Ooh (Ayy, ooh), my cravings get dangerous
Ooh, I don't think we should wait
It's on the line, girl, you're risking everything
Crave (Remixes)
“Crave” gives desire the language of dependency. Its speaker is tired of being far from home and from safety, yet places trust in the very person who makes that distance feel worth enduring. The chorus is not coy about the danger: the craving is powerful, its feelings refuse to fade, and the pair may be playing with something they cannot control. What sounds like a declaration of devotion is therefore shadowed by self-awareness. The singer knows that longing can distort judgment; she does not mistake intensity for security.
That double feeling is sharpened by the song’s duet form. Madonna and Swae Lee trade a sense of distance and need, so the lyric’s repeated invitation becomes a negotiation rather than a solitary confession. The central question is not simply whether they want each other, but whether the desire can be made real without turning into another kind of risk. “Something real, something I can feel” is a modest demand after the chorus’s grand insistence: the speaker wants evidence, not just appetite.
The song was introduced in 2019 as a collaboration with Swae Lee and appeared on Madonna’s *Madame X*; the later “Remixes” packaging places it in a different release context. The lyric remains the original song’s, so this reading stays with its words rather than claiming a particular remix’s arrangement or reception. That distinction matters: remixes can change the body of a track, but the writing’s uneasy balance of surrender and self-protection survives. “Crave” is most compelling when it refuses to call wanting someone either salvation or mistake. It is both a pull toward another person and a warning to keep one’s eyes open.
