This Brain I've Got

Art Paul Schlosser · Untitled I And Untitled II

1.This brain I've got

Won't last forever

No matter how

Smart or cleaver

And though I kiss you darling

That's just for today

Who knows what

Tomorrow may say

These mortal bodies

That we are in

Are only temporarily

They rust like tin

And though we think our life will last

One day it fades just like the grass

2.We are so blind

To the truth

We cling to things

Like they've got root

Before our own

Very eyes

Things pass away

Friends say goodbye

And though we hope

And though we dream

We can't keep forever

The grass green

So say farewell and hug me once more

Before we fade from this shore
