The Cooking Song

Art Paul Schlosser · F.A.W.M. (February Album Writing Month) [2008]

So anyways this Art Paul and I've been doing all these songs

and I hope you've been enjoying them and um

The last couple of ones have been kind of angry

because sometimes you feel that way and um

I just love this February Album Writing Month

that I've been writing these songs for

because it really forces stuff out of you

that you would of never normally written

because your trying to get all 14 songs done

Not anyone can be a chef at a very fine restaurant

Not any one can make a sandwich at a very nice delicatessen

No it takes more than boiling water yeah cooking takes skill

Yes it shouldn't be left to amateurs or will all get really ill

Customer:Waiter Waiter what is this fly doing in my soup

Waiter: Okay I'm looking at your soup and looks like he is doing a dance

Now that your a baker there's a few things that you should know

Make sure your hands are clean and please use a clean bowl

Don't use too much yeast or too high will rise the dough

And please don't pick your buggers

or to a different bakery will all have to go

Customer: Waiter, Waiter there's a fly, there's a fly in my soup

Waiter: That's no fly that's my wife

Say if it makes you proud and glad to be the local cook

Make sure you use the right ingredient go strictly by the book

It's what the food taste like not just how it looks

And please don't charge to much or everyone will call you a crook

Customer: Waiter, Waiter there's a fly in my soup

Waiter:Okay that will be 5 cents more because then it's got protein
