Mim pravil

Batista Cadillac · Mim pravil

Zacniva preden se dan konca
Dovoli, da se malo išceva
Zapri oci, zdaj sama sva

Izzivam te, da kaj vec izvem
Povej s telesom mi ali smem
In boš razmišljala potem

Dokler si nisva le spomin
Ti pokazal bom nacin
Kako prevedeš na telo kar misliš si

Greva vse do konca, greva dlje kot upava
Mim' pravil oba
Greva vse do konca in odmisliva vse
Mim' pravil odpeljem te

Odpeljem te, mim' pravil

Okusil bi tvoj nasmeh
Si zlil v kozarec, kar imaš v oceh
In ti razkril, kaj vse ni greh

Ne potrebujeva besed
Z dotikom ti bom narisal sled
Da me kasneje najdeš spet

Dokler si nisva le spomin
Ti pokazal bom nacin
Kako prevedeš na telo kar misliš si

Greva vse do konca, greva dlje kot upava
Mim' pravil oba
Greva vse do konca in odmisliva vse
Mim' pravil odpeljem te

Batista Cadillac’s ‘Mim pravil’ makes seduction a game of mutual rules

‘Mim pravil’ translates roughly as “against the rules” or “beyond the rules,” and the lyric turns a late-night encounter into a game of mutual invitation. The singer asks to search each other out, challenges the other person to answer with body language, and imagines leaving with more than a passing memory. Its central tension is between words and touch: the couple are urged to communicate without speaking, but the narrator still wants to know whether the other person consents. That framing makes the song less a boast than a flirtatious negotiation, though its language remains knowingly sensual.

Batista Cadillac released the song in 2022 and performed it at EMA, Slovenia’s national Eurovision selection. The band’s mix of soul, funk and rock gave the slow-burning number a retro-leaning performance style, while its lyrics stood apart from the more conventional competition-pop format. At the EMA 2022 final, ‘Mim pravil’ finished second overall, with 90 points: 40 from the public vote and 50 from the jury according to Eurovisionworld’s results listing. The song’s appearance on the televised contest helped introduce the group’s vintage soul sound to a national audience.

EMA exposure is the clearest documented reception marker; it should not be conflated with a win or with a major international chart result. Eurovisionworld lists Benjamin Krnetič, Martin Štibernik, Matija Koritnik, Tadej Košir and Urban Lutman as songwriters. The lyric page’s title is simply ‘Mim pravil’, and the recording sits within the band’s early catalogue, before their later national-selection appearances brought further attention. Its appeal comes from balancing a suggestive premise with a measured, band-led groove: a song about stepping beyond convention that still makes mutual signals and willingness part of the encounter.
