“Na dimije stavila katance” (“She Put Padlocks on Her Shalwar”) is a comic domestic farce built around Fata and Mujo, characters familiar in Bosnian humor. The rumor around town says Fata took Mujo to court over the money he gives to other women; the refrain has her chasing him with a rolling pin. Mujo, meanwhile, invents a plan to survive married life by promising a crowd of children. The song turns marital conflict into a fast-moving village joke.

The humor depends on the familiar comic archetypes, but the story also hints at the real issue beneath the slapstick: a husband has been giving away what should belong to the household, and his wife is trying to hold him accountable. The rolling pin exaggerates the confrontation, while the courthouse and money make the dispute concrete. The title’s image of locks on clothing is another punchline, but it also suggests a woman trying to impose a boundary in a world where the man keeps evading one.

Mara i Lole’s performance sits within a Bosnian folk tradition where comic songs often draw on the Fata-and-Mujo joke cycle. No independent critical review of this particular track surfaced. “Na dimije stavila katance” aims first to entertain, but its comedy has a social target: the husband whose behavior makes his wife the enforcer. The song’s final laugh may be Mujo’s, but the audience knows why Fata is angry.
